Sphalerite

Formula: ZnS

Sphalerite is one of the most abundant sulphide minerals at Mont Saint-Hilaire. Colours include yellow, green, brown, red, orange, black or colourless, and range in size from a millimetre or less, up to several centimetres. It can be found in well-formed tetrahedral, pseudo-octahedral, dodecahedral, and twinned crystals.
