Aegirine is the most common pyroxene mineral at Mont Saint-Hilaire, and is a major constituent of pegmatites. Crystals range from tiny crystals up to prismatic crystals up to 30cm long. Smaller crystals can range in colour from very pale to dark green (most common), yellow, brown or red, The larger crystals are invariably black.
